New and Noteworthy Games on Kickstarter

Another week, another batch of new board and card games on Kickstarter. As usual, if you like what you see, click on the links and pledge some money.

• Tau Ceti: Planetary Crisis - A 1-4 player sci-fi board game. Harness your alien abilities, adapt to a collapsing economy, and lead your civilization to Enlightenment!

• The Manhattan Project: Energy Empire - From the ashes of war, nations rise to power in the Atomic Age. The successor to the very popular board game: The Manhattan Project.

• Ophidian 2360: Survival of the Fittest - An expandable card game where two to four players bring teams of Gladiators to the table and fight in the arena to establish a winner.

• DETHRONED - A card game fusing Real-Time combat with the Hidden-Role genre. Simple enough for parties but deep enough for veteran gamers.

• Killer Snails: Assassins of the Sea - A fast-paced strategic deck-building card game featuring deadly snails and developed with the American Museum of Natural History.  You play a scientist on a mission to discover new deadly venom peptide combinations or cabals.  You must build a team of venomous marine snails, feed them prey, and collect the deadly peptides cabals you need.

• Retreat to Dartmoor! - 2-4 players assume the roles of dark overlords of the realm, each commanding an identical deck of minions. Your goal: to successfully evade the legendary heroes and take refuge in the various locations of Darkmoor. Each minion that manages to escape will count toward control of a location, but beware of your so-called collaborators, as each overlord also scores points for eliminating rival minions!
